For the second year in a row, data centers across the Nordics are joining forces to open their doors, share knowledge, and inspire the next generation during Nordic Data Center Week, taking place on 22-26 September across Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Iceland.

Organized in partnership by the Nordic data center industry associations, the week is dedicated to strengthening public understanding of the essential role data centers play in a digitalized and sustainable society. From school visits and community events to industry talks and open days, activities will highlight how data centers power everything from cloud services to AI — and why the sector offers exciting, meaningful career opportunities.

"Nordic Data Center Week was a great success in its first year, and we’re excited to build on that momentum,” says Henrik Hansen, CEO of the Danish Data Center Industry. “This week is about more than infrastructure, it’s about connecting with local communities, learning and listening to each other, and showing how our industry contributes to both the green transition and economic growth.”

Activities across Denmark

This year’s Danish program will include:

  • School engagement: Hands-on visits where students learn about the technology and sustainability strategies behind data centers.
  • Community dialogue: Events bringing together municipalities, local businesses, and data centers.
  • Industry insights: Panels and talks on the future of AI, digital infrastructure, and the skills needed to meet demand.

"We want to spark curiosity, whether you’re 12 or 52,” adds Merima Dzanic, Head of Strategy & Operations. “Data centers are not just the backbone of the internet, they’re a key part of solving the sustainability challenges we face. Nordic Data Center Week makes that visible.”

About Nordic Data Center Week

Nordic Data Center Week is a collaborative initiative between the Nordic data center associations, aiming to promote awareness, understanding, and dialogue about the role of data centers in society. During Data Center Week, the industry invites the public, as well as the public and private sectors, to an open dialogue with the communities for which data centers are so essential.

Throughout the week, events will take place across Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Iceland. Activities are planned in close cooperation with local municipalities, educational institutions, and data center operators.
