Strategic Tracks
Denmark stands at a defining moment in the development of digital infrastructure.
Increasing geopolitical uncertainty, accelerating AI adoption, growing energy system pressures, and the demand for European digital sovereignty are fundamentally changing the role of data centers in society. At the same time, the Danish Data Center Industry faces both historic opportunities and critical challenges.
How we act now will shape Denmark’s position for decades to come. DDIs 2030 strategy aims to strengthen the strategic dialogue with the executive leaders shaping this industry.
Our Vision
Denmark should be one of Europe’s most important strategic hubs for sustainable and resilient digital infrastructure.
DDI serves as the central platform where industry players and partners collaborate on energy, climate, and growth challenges, with the purpose of actively contributing to Denmark’s digital and green development.
Strategic Tracks
To achieve the vision for 2030, DDI’s activities are organized around four strategic tracks that together address policy development, innovation, societal impact, and member value.
Each track reflects both the opportunities and challenges facing the industry and defines where DDI can create the strongest impact.
Policy & Framework Conditions
Stable and competitive framework conditions are fundamental for attracting investments and supporting long-term industry growth. DDI therefore works actively to promote predictable regulation and favorable conditions related to energy, environmental requirements, and the establishment of data center infrastructure.
At the same time, DDI works to position the industry as a strategic part of Denmark’s critical infrastructure and future growth agenda.
Innovation & Partnerships
Long-term competitiveness depends on the ability to develop new technologies, business models, and partnerships across sectors.
DDI seeks to strengthen the industry by facilitating technology development, cross-sector collaboration, and initiatives that help attract and retain the workforce required to support future growth.
Societal Impact
As the role of digital infrastructure continues to evolve, there is a growing need to strengthen understanding of the direct and indirect value created by the industry.
DDI works to make the societal contribution of data centers more visible through analyses, thought leadership, presentations, and close engagement with political decision-makers, media, industry partners, and the utility sector.
Member Value & Industry Development
DDI creates value for members through market intelligence, strong networks, targeted communication, and initiatives that support strategic priorities and business development opportunities.
The ambition is to strengthen the industry's ecosystem while ensuring measurable value creation for members.
