New from the industry: STACK Infrastructure EMEA, who owns and operates two data centers in Denmark, is selling its European colocation data centers to investment fund Apollo.

In a significant industry development, leading colocation provider STACK Infrastructure—known for operating two data centers in Denmark—has sold its European colocation business to investment fund Apollo. This transaction marks a pivotal shift in the European data center landscape.

Apollo-managed infrastructure funds have agreed to acquire the European colocation business managed by STACK Infrastructure, a portfolio company of Blue Owl Digital Infrastructure Advisors LLC , in a carve-out transaction.

The acquisition includes seven data centers across five key markets: Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen, Milan, and Geneva. While the financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed, it is confirmed that the entire management team and current employees of Stack’s EMEA colocation business unit, which was established just last year, will transition to the new company. The name and brand identity of this new business venture are yet to be announced.

John Eland, Chief Executive Officer of STACK EMEA, stated, "A client-first approach is at the heart of STACK, which is why we established a dedicated enterprise colocation business unit in EMEA last year. The strategic creation of the colocation business unit enabled us to support the specialised requirements of the hyperscale sector, whilst also enabling our colocation experts to deliver exclusively on the needs of the enterprise sector. As STACK EMEA evolves to focus primarily on hyperscale clients, this transaction solidifies our commitment to hyperscale data center development and operations whilst our former enterprise colocation clients will continue to receive the highest standard of performance and support from dedicated experts."
